Wharton Center offers many educational opportunities for
people of all ages. From checking out what happens behind
the scenes, to becoming better at teaching others through
the arts, everyone young and old can learn more about the arts.
Below is a list of a few of the programs we offer.
Kennedy Center Professional Development Series
Arts Education: The Key to Unlocking Creativity in Your Students
Professional development designed to enhance your ability to teach in and through the arts. Choose from a variety of programs to suit your needs. SB-CEUs oered to meet professional credentialing requirements.
Take It From The Top
Take It From The Top is a series of interactive workshops taught by working Broadway professionals who have a passion for providing training and perspective for students interested in pursuing a professional career in musical theatre as well as those just looking to have fun with performing arts.
Master Classes
Master Classes allow you the opportunity to learn about a show from those who know it the best, the performers.
Evening College
Wharton Center opens its doors and offers participants an opportunity to learn what happens offstage at a major performing arts center. There is at least one class every semester. This experice is something you will never forget. Take a tour backstage of a major broadway show, or learn what its like to be a performer on the road. Classes are organized by the MSU Alumni Association and are limited in size, please sign up early so you don't miss out.
Cultural Exchange
Wharton Center's Cultural Exchange is an inclusive program for MSU students from diverse backgrounds. It's an opportunity to participate in a shared experience of cultural expression and enhance awareness by stimulating discussion in a multicultural setting.
